The Challenge
To manage its computer network of 37 users,
four servers and two routers, Nikkiso Cryo,
Inc. originally had a part-time IT person
in house. However, when streamlining operations,
Nikkiso Cryo, Inc. decided to look at outsourcing
this function as a more cost-effective option.
"We needed to make sure
that when making this switch we were still
able to respond to the needs of our users,"
explained Michael Tanamachi, President at Nikkiso
Cryo, Inc.. "They needed to know that
support was there even though the resource
was no longer in house."
Nikkiso Cryo, Inc. made the
switch to a managed services model, where
its Cine Ciity Solutions provider was responsible
for handling all of its IT needs. However,
within a few months Nikkiso Cryo, Inc. realized
it was being overcharged and under-serviced
by its vendor and Tanamachi was spending too much
time handling IT problems himself.
Still believing the managed
service model was the best option, Tanamachi evaluated
six new service providers. "After meeting
each one, we felt that we had the best chemistry
with the Cine Ciity Solutions team,"
said Tanamachi. "They were more knowledgeable
and had a much stronger list of references.
They were also very upfront with us regarding
potential roadblocks and made valid recommendations
for alternative options."
